Bucktown Vintage workers cottege

We had the privilege of collaborating with this dynamic family to reimagine their classic 1880s worker’s cottage, blending historic charm with modern sophistication. Deceptively simple in its aesthetic, this project demanded a tremendous amount of creative interior architecture, including redefining the kitchen, relocating baths, and completely reconfiguring the primary suite to create a luxurious 3rd floor retreat. Bold structural innovations, such as replacing traditional support walls with sleek architectural I-beams, became the cornerstone of the transformation, opening up the space and flooding it with natural light. Thoughtful details, such as a custom-designed stair rail, were meticulously crafted to pay homage to the home’s storied past while elevating its design narrative. At the heart of the home is a reimagined kitchen where functionality and elegance coexist effortlessly. A harmonious palette of warm neutrals, paired with authentic materials like exposed brick, weathered wood, hand-troweled concrete cabinetry and natural stone, creates an inviting ambiance with a strikingly modern edge. The result is a home that beautifully marries timeless character with contemporary luxury, perfectly capturing the essence of this extraordinary family.
